ABOUT.

Neat. Music was born from stages and studios, from the adrenaline rush of live drums and the introspective glow of synth‑pop. Founder Ben Marshall cut his teeth touring the world as a drummer with bands like Savoir Adore and The Grates. Later he conjured shimmering dreamscapes as one half of Paperwhite, a project that notched millions of streams and captured the admiration of Billboard, VICE and Buzzfeed. Those years of rhythm and exploration instilled in him a belief: music is memory in motion and a single chord can DEFINE A MOMENT, whether on stage or in the frame of a film.

Parallel to this artistic journey, Marshall built a reputation as a composer and creative director in advertising. At New York’s Found Objects he crafted scores that resonated far beyond his Brooklyn studio, writing music for Apple, Nike, YouTube and many others. He creative directed and composed for Apple’s Vision Pro launch film and helped reimagine The Kinks’ classic “Strangers” with Black Pumas and Lucius for YouTube’s Life in a Day project. His work earned a Bronze Clio for Apple’s emotive “Dear Apple” spot and a Silver Clio for the “Rise and Shine” PSA supporting New Orleans musicians. That same film swept the 2021 AMP Awards, winning Best in Show and Outstanding Adaptation or Arrangement. Marshall’s compositions have also graced Super Bowl airtime, including his score for the surreal MTN Dew Zero Sugar commercial with Bryan Cranston and Tracee Ellis Ross. His music has enhanced films and series such as Olympic Dreams, L’atto Finale, Hulu’s Tell Me Lies, We Strangers, and Andrew Ahn’s Fire Island.

In 2025, Marshall founded Neat. Music, a studio for bold, nuanced storytelling. Drawing on years of touring, electronic‑music experimentation and award‑winning commercial work, Neat. specializes in bespoke music that elevates brands while preserving artistic integrity. For Marshall, composing is about capturing the ineffable—the feeling when strings bloom beneath an emotive voice or a note that lingers as the world expands. Whether transforming a classic for the Super Bowl or crafting an original music experience for a virtual‑reality launch, his compositions balance meticulous craft with imagination and straight up vibe. Through Neat. Music, Marshall continues to blur the boundaries between pop and art, commerce and craft, inviting listeners to hear familiar stories through a fresh lens.
